New Worship Community Grants

A key goal in Liverpool Diocese is the planting and development of worship communities, which are small communities of disciples, established in a particular context, with a unique missional vision.  We recognise that these emerging communities often need seed funding to pursue their missional goals and therefore we are able to offer grants for new worship communities, to enable their start-up and growth.  The process for application is very simple, and is outlined below…

  1. Discuss your financial need with your clergy leader.  The application MUST be discussed with whoever has clergy oversight.
  2. There are two different grants you can access.  Our Starter grant is for immediate, very small costs that you might encounter at the very beginning of your journey, and our average grant for this will be ~£500.   Our Development grant is for costs that you might encounter further on in your journey, and our average grant will be up to £5000.
  3. Download the appropriate application form (see below), and please ask a member of the Cultivate team if you need any help with the form.
  4. Download the PCC/LLT Checklist (see below), and ensure the PCC/LLT completes the checklist, and has it signed by someone with clergy oversight.
  5. Send the application form and PCC/LLT checklist to your Cultivate team member.
  6. The application will be considered by a small diocesan team and you and your clergy leader will be informed of the decision.  From the point that we receive the application, we intend on informing you of the result within 14 days.
  7. The diocesan finance team will process the payment.
  8. We would be delighted to hear the progress of your new worship community, so please keep us informed of your news!
